Help with motherboard CD!

I just recently reformated my computer and now I'm stuck. I'm up to the point where I try to install the drivers. I was told that the first cd I should put in, after I load Windows onto the computer, is the Intel Express Installer Cd (motherboard CD). At first it was giving me a message saying: "Error Loading XML parser." I took out the USB connecting the printer to the computer and now I get an error message saying: "EiSetup Interal Error - Error copying File." Does anyone know whats wrong here? Do I really need to use this cd to get the computer running back the way it was?

Start over again, and this time disconnect ALL peripherals except monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
