Formatting HD?
Hey,
so my OS got messed up and now it needs to be formatted with a fresh install of the OS. I have not formatted a drive for a while so I was wondering whatès the most effective way to clean the drive? I use to use fdisk to format and partition the drive, now I do not have a floppy drive. From what I know, I can either format the drive in cmd prompt or in the vista setup disk. I also know of a program to clean the drive but i forget the name of the program? So are there any other ways? I assume they all get the job done, but is there a proper effective way? Thanks.

You can format and set partitions during the first stages of the OS install. No need to wipe the drive for the install.
