Driver Issue

Thought I but this here since it involves my MB (sig). Since I like to keep everything up to date there seems to be a issue with mb drivers (nforce chip driver). Went to ASUS and they don't have the latest drivers for Vista, so I went to Nvidia instead. It has the latest drivers for the board but they won't install. Everytime I install them they don't work. I uninstalled the old drivers first before installing the new.

So next I went to the HD with my XP Pro on it and have the same issue. Now if you go to device manager and look under system, everything listed there says there is no drivers installed. What could be the issue.. I tried multiple times on both drives and drivers will not install.. Funny thing is I also installed ASUS updater (latest version) for bios and it says " No asus product dected. could there be a problem with the board not installing the drivers..

And when you say: "Everytime I install them they don't work" you mean what? Are you getting any sort of error message?

Do you still have the older drivers that were working?

If so, I would stick to them.

No error messages, but I do find it odd that when you go into device manager everywhere I look everything under system says there is no drivers installed.. So what does it mean, do you need an erro message to indicat something is wrong.. Ok everyting I shut down the machine, my monitor shows a green background with horizontal lines and sometime the background is black with the same line.. And if it goes into sleep mode it does the same thing, and then I have to do a hard power shutdown to get it back going again.. It is things like this that make me wounder some time if there is a problem starting to develope that can become more of a hassle later.. Now the video card drivers I have updated and it does the same thing with the old and new drivers...
