A 3gb "ReadyBoost" file found its way onto my usb drive... can't delete it!
On a Vista machine I was backing up some files (work computer) and suddenly I get an error saying my 4gb usb flash drive was full... I know for a fact that's impossible so I open it up and here is this file called "ReadyBoost" on there, it is shown as a Type: ReadyBoost Cache File
It's 3.3gb file and when I try to delete it I have to go through the usual Vista suckiness and confirm/allow/confirm etc. Finally it comes to a "File Destination Not Permitted" and asks me to try again or close, I try again and again and again all with the same result... this file remains on my flash drive. So... What IS this file, how do I get rid of it, and how do a I make sure it doesn't find it's way onto my flash drive again  Many thanks!! ~Vinny |

ReadyBoost is a feature of Vista to use USB drives in a similar fashion to swap files....If you only have 1 gig of ram, you'll get a nice little performace gain....
Use Vista help file for instruction for turing it off...

Right click on your flash drive in my computer, go to Properties, tab that says "ReadyBoost", check off the radio button that says "Do not use this device", then hit "OK".
