Exclamation I cannot boot from cd

I have a dell dimension 3000 with windows xp home edition originally on it which i upgraded it to sp3 from sp1, now i try to re-boot the system and it will not boot at all from cd. What it does is when i select boot from cd it just instantly boots from my current drive. anything I could do so that i could reformat my computer. I am right now trying to install windows xp black.

Why are you trying to install that if you already have windows xp on it?

And to get it to boot from cd, go into the bios and make the cd drive the first boot device.

Assistance with XP Black will not be given here, as it's pirated.
