Fantastically irrational fears: Guitar amps & HDD's
The way my room is set up, my guitar amp is 5 feet to the right of my computer, not pointed to it. It's a 5w tube amp, so it gets pretty loud.
Now, I know I have a lot of irrational fears (... does anyone else keep their cellphones away from everything technological because they're afraid of radio interference?) but is it at all possible that my amp would somehow resonate with my HDD and make horrible things happen? open for discussion and mockery. thanks! |

If you hit the kind of db's it would take to do that, you'll be deaf soon anyway and it won't matter much.

You should submit that to Myth Busters for examination
Lets but it this way, My dell laptop absorbed many Mortar round shockwaves when I was in Iraq, I used Satellite phones, sat next to satellites with my laptop and dropped them from 4 feet, and I never had a issue with it, I am pretty sure your safe. Last edited by itsgt; 08-30-2008 at 10:24 PM. |
