Unhappy Bad mobo?

Hey guys,
Ive got a abit bx6.r2 mobo and a 500 meg PIII (slot 1) that has been sitting in the corner of my room since I upgraded my mobo and cpu. I wanted to upgrade my brothers comp by putting my old mobo and cpu in it and im having a problem.
When I power it up all of the proper leds come on and all of the drives are getting power to them but my monitor stays in suspend mode (led blinks like its in suspend mode).
I pulled the mobo out of the case and set it on a piece of cardboard, put only a vid card and power to it and im still getting the same thing.
Ive tried 2 good power supplies,2 good video cards,a good monitor and I cant get it to do anything at all. It worked fine a few months ago when I pulled it out and tested it. Does this sound like a bad mobo to you? Is there anything else that I can try to get it working?

try removing a stick of memory then booting up the computer. If it works, then after the first boot, you can replace the stick of memory.

A quick update.
When I boot up the comp the speaker beeps for 3 seconds then there is a 2 second pause then it beeps for 3 seconds and continues with this pattern infinently. I looked in my manual and it doesnt have any details as to what the beeps coming from the speaker may mean.
Any ideas?

Hi JCB,

Find out which BIOS/CMOS chip your motherboard uses and then go here: http://www.pcmech.com/show/troubleshoot/14/

How many sticks of Ram do you have? One or two?
If you have only one then you should get another stick and try that. The ram might be faulty or have taken static damage.

Cricket & Mike,
When testing my mobo ,as described in the first entry of this thread, I did not have any ram in it at all. I thought that you should see something on screen even without any ram installed. Cricket, I checked out that link a few days ago to find out what the beeps mean and after looking at it after you mentioned it I realized I was looking at error codes for the ami bios and not my bios (award) DOH!!!!
Here is what it says about my error code.
"1 Long Beep indicates a problem with memory in the first bank, usually an unseated memory module"
I am gonna try it again with a diffrent stick of ram.
Wish me luck.
