P5Q question
I bought an ASUS P5Q Pro for my new rig. it does not have any ports for the monitor, so I need to buy an add-on card. Stupid question, but could anyone suggest a card that can fit in http://http://www.newegg.com/Product...82E16813131299 ?
This is my first computer I'm making by myself, so if I'm looking at this the wrong way, could someone tell me how I hook up my monitor to this motherboard? |

you have to install the VGA card first (the graphics card) the hookup for the monitor is on that. unless you mobo is intergrated, whichy i can almost be 100% sure it isnt.

Ahhhhhh, thanks a bunch. Graphics card is still in the box, didn't think of looking there. If I wanted to upgrade to a DVI cable, is there anything I need to do besides buying an adapter?

some graphics cards come with the adaptors, like mine, had 2 slots for the display for dual monitors, and it came with the wrong hookups for my monitor, but luckily they included 2 adaptors as well, check the box to make sure. other than that, no your dont need anything else.
