Memory loss after power down?
I did a clean out of my computer today, unplugged everything switched off PSU and unplugged. Blew everything out with air. Reconnected everything , double checking all connections as usual.
Went to boot up and all I get is constant beeping. According to Award BIOS it's DRAM issue. Why would Disconnecting my PSU and reconnecting lead to no recognition of RAM? SPECS: MOBO : GIGIABYTE G4-M55 PLUS S3G (REV 1.2) PROC: AMD SEMPRON 64 3000+ 1.6 GHZ PSU: XCLIO 450BL 450W RAM: GSKILL 667 1GB VID: EVGA 256-P2-N412 LX GEFORCE 7100GS Please help with this I'm stumped. Thanks e777 |

Did you clear the CMOS using the jumper pins? Have you tried reseating the RAM?

Double check and make sure the memory is installed securely in place.

I never removed the memory so it should be seated correctly just like it was before. There has to be a solution to this. This is my wife's business computer if I don't fix it I'm fired.

The RAM could have gotten bumped. I would suggest removing and reinstalling it. Have you tried clearing the CMOS using the jumper pins?

There is a chance that you knocked something loose while working inside the computer.
Thus, why I asked you to try reseating the memory since you seem to be having a memory related problem. |

OK I got it up and running again, but the memory stick will only work in slots 3 or 4 not in 1 or 2.
Are slots 1 and 2 bad or is the stick finicky now ? Anyone have a clue about this problem ? e777 |

It could be either. You need another stick of known working memory in order to test the theories.
