Can I use this ram?
I currently use 2gb of DDR2 800 RAM (Wintec). The timings are 4-4-4-12. Just yesterday I bought Grand Theft Auto IV and I've realized that I need a little more juice, so my buddy handed me a 1gb stick of DDR2 533 Corsair ValueSelect RAM. I think the timings are loose at default, 5-5-5-15 (or 18) I think, but I haven't tested yet.
My question is, if I stick this RAM into my Biostar A770 A2+ motherboard alongside my DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 Wintec RAM, is that ok? If not, what would I have to do to make sure I don't burn up any of the RAM or cause other harm to the system? Thanks! |

It;s going to slow the DDR2-800 down to DDR2-533, which will give you a noticeable performance hit on that platform. Ram is *SO* cheap now, just go buy some.
