Hello,
I will be building a new system soon and have already purchased an Asus P5Q motherboard. This board has two RAID controller and I'm wondering which one to use; the ICH10R or the SIllicon Image controller. I have hard it said that the Silicon Image device does all array calculations in hardware and requires no drivers, but this is not verified. Any advice or tips apreciated. |

I'd use the ICH10R.

The Sil is a Drive Xpert controller, not a traditional RAID controller. Tests show that it's slower than the ICH10R.
