Help!I have installed two video cards in my system and everything is fine, unless I try to put in more than 512meg ram. I'm running Windows Millenium, and have tr ied everything. 2 different motherboards (Asus and Abit), 2 different card combos (Voodoo5 agp and Voodoo3 pci, then Geforce3 agp and Geforce2 pci). I've tried new drivers, old drivers, custom drivers, bios changes and updates- no clue.
I've tried every slot, different memory brands, etc. The system locks after the second card initializes, if I have over 512 of ram. The system will boot into safe mode, obviously without the 2nd card. Any ideas out there? |

Windows 98 and ME have issues with over 512 megs ram, you have to limit the Vcache. Look in the system.ini file and in the [vcache] section add this:
MaxFileCache=524288 (or any number less than that) Consider Win2000 or (ugh) XP - they don't have that limitation - or stick with 512 megs, extra ram above that really doesn't have any benefit with 9x/ME. |
