Multiple video cards and memory crash

Help!I have installed two video cards in my system and everything is fine, unless I try to put in more than 512meg ram. I'm running Windows Millenium, and have tr ied everything. 2 different motherboards (Asus and Abit), 2 different card combos (Voodoo5 agp and Voodoo3 pci, then Geforce3 agp and Geforce2 pci). I've tried new drivers, old drivers, custom drivers, bios changes and updates- no clue.

I've tried every slot, different memory brands, etc. The system locks after the second card initializes, if I have over 512 of ram. The system will boot into safe mode, obviously without the 2nd card.

Any ideas out there?

Windows 98 and ME have issues with over 512 megs ram, you have to limit the Vcache. Look in the system.ini file and in the [vcache] section add this:

MaxFileCache=524288

(or any number less than that)

Consider Win2000 or (ugh) XP - they don't have that limitation - or stick with 512 megs, extra ram above that really doesn't have any benefit with 9x/ME.
