Hitachi Hard Drives

Are Hitachi hard drives any good? I plan on getting a 500GB laptop hard drive and the Hitachi hard drives are about 30% less expensive than the next competitor. I don't have that much experience with them; I've had 2 or 3 drives that I've had come preinstalled in laptops, these hard drives worked OK, and are still running (I've had them for about 1.5 years).

Hitachi notebook drives are okay. They are not my first choice but I don't avoid them.

I have never had any problems with Hitachi drives and I have had a few of them.

Have dealt with a few too, some for a few years. Not a single problem. Looks like you're good to go on the Hitachi.
