Price not a real object? I love this!
For what is available right *now* - Athlon XP 1900+, some premium heatsink/fan Soyo Dragon Plus KT266A board Premium case - full tower unless you need portability, then midtower, with AMD approved power supply IBM 60GXP hard drive, desired capacity Pioneer DVD Plextor CD-RW GeForce 3 or Radeon 8500 video Crucial PC2100 DDR sdram |

And a big display.
![]() Like 21" CRT or higher if you are going all out. And, if cash is even less of a problem, a 19" or even 21" TFT would be better. And, if resources are approaching infinity, get a huge plasma display. The monitor I wanted was the one that used displacement parallax illumintation, or something akin, to create 3d images without googles. It was featured here at Tomshardware. By the by, if you go the SB route for sound, the Audigy looks promising. When they start writing games for it, I hope you will be able to tell the difference. Respectfully, Demosthenes |

Price is not an option ? The forget the CRT.
Search the 18,1" TFT with 25ms response time or even 15ms reponse time or search for a larger TFT also with that low response time. RJ

If I'm thinkin right...that MB has a RAID controller on it, so get 2-3 of those HDs. AMD may even have a new XP chip out, depending on how long before you get the check.
OR....more MP motherboards may be out by then....hehehehehe

Poor guy..
I bet the guy who started this thread is really regretting that bit about price no option...what with all the suggestions and all...*laugh* Have fun man. Another great idea is perhaps get the most expensive of everything you can find on the market...see if you can make it to $10,000. I think you would really regret that saying ! LOL Take care all.

Price is not option? Where's the SCSI? Throw in a Dual Channel Ultra 160 controller card, a couple 10 or 15k rpm drives and a SCSI cdrom/burner/DVD. Note: You don't really need all this if the computer is just for gaming at LAN parties, but if price really is not an object it'd be a nice setup to have. HTH

I was waiting for someone to mention an Itanium.
I would still rather have that DTI 3d Display over any LCD. Anyone ever see one in action? Respectfully, Demosthenes |
