Hello PC Gurus!
Was just curious: Whats the best cpu/motherboard/video card combination for the best gaming experience? |

It's not really going to come down to CPU at all (AMD/Intel). With affordable processors in the 1.5-1.8Ghz range, there is more than enough speed to satisfy any game out there. Get yourself a quality motherboard, then either a GeForce2 or 3 (not the MX versions) or an ATI Radeon video card. IMHO, GeForce for pure speed, Radeon for good speed and best picture quality.

Thanks for quick response HAL. By the way, why not the MX versions?
I go for best picture quality anyday. Not really into quake, more of the F16/MS Flight Sim/Mechwarrior kind of player. |

The MX series are budget cards, and won't hit over thirty fps or so. It is worth it to spend a bit more and get way better performance.
