Finished first build

First, let me say thanks to everyone here who has helped me, both answering my questions as well as for the chance to read everyone else's questions.

I plan a full build in January, God (and Santa) willing, but wanted to practice on some cheaper components first. I upgraded an old P200 AT system last night. I wanted to build a box that would support surfing and W/P. My goal was to upgrade for less than $100 and I made it.

Used an old case, drives, vid card and screen and added:
Asus MEL-B mainboard
CELERON 500 PPGA OEM
Crucial DIMM 128 MB

It took me about 3 hours to take the old system apart, install everything and get the system up an running. I can't speak to stability yet, but everything looks fine so far.

I've read about drugs that are addictive after one use, well building computers must be that way too. I've already started looking at another old machine to see what it would take to upgrade it to be a print server...

Thanks again to everyone! I'll be back with more questions, I sure.

The first step in admitting you don't have a problem is denial.
