I have ABIT BE6-II and it has Flash ROM bios. What are the chances that a Flash ROM can be corrupted easily than a EPROM BIOS chip?
So far my mobo BIOS chip corrupted 2 times with past 3 months. Thinking of going for ASUS P3V4X board. Any suggestions/feedback/experiences with BIOS corruption or with ASUS mobo?

Please help.

Cool

I've run the P3V4X since mid-march with a P550e overclocked processor. I'm extremely happy with the board.

I've recently converted to a dual boot system (98se/win2k). I've had no problems other than a minor irq clash. Luckily the board has every possible adjustment to manuever devices/irqs and all came out fine.

I have upgraded the bios (flashed it) once, about a month ago.

The only problem I ever had with bios corruption was a nasty dose of CIH in April of '99.

Hi WJ,

I made a frisby out of my ABIT BE6-II and ordered a ASUS P3V4X. I started this project in March and since then I have my puter (?) having trouble with Abit mobo. Hope at last I made a wise decision by switching to ASUS and be a success. Wish me luck

Cool

They both are very good boards, but there can always be a bad apple in an otherwise good bunch. I hope you can get something back out of whoever you got it from.

Good luck with the p3v4x.. If I can be of any help, let me know.

I bought from Microbarn.com. They said that with ABIT it is the most common problem.
