Cleaning Antec 900
Hi,
As my Antec 900 is sitting on the floor, the inside gets a little dusty. My question is, if it is ok to dust off the dust with a paint brush followed by an air duster? Not sure if it would create any static. Appreciate if someone can advise. |

Almost anything will work. I use an old tooth brush and canned air...
Make sure you unplug the power cord before proceeding. Make sure the brush doesn't leave behind and brissels.

I use a two inch pure natural bristle paint brush with a wooden handle so as to cut down on the likelyhood of static, avoid synthetic bristles and plastic handled brushes.
I usually brush and blow out the case outside so keeping the power cable plugged in is a bit of a problem without an extension lead. As soon as you have done any cleaning plug the power cable back in to earth/ground the case and dissipate any static build up.

I usually turn off my computer, and then take it apart and vacuum everything.
Lately though, i've just been using a air compressor to blow everything out, and vacuum the outside. (I do this more frequently so it doesn't build up to the point that i have to vacuum inside.) Side note: I switched from a 900 to the 300, and find the filters help a lot with the dust.

Canned air works well. I have a canister vacuum with a reversible hose that I typically use to blow the dust out of my PC. It works about as well as canned air, but it doesn't cost any additional money.

I bought the 300 for my first build, what a great case. I was surprised to see so much room to work around/expand with, and the several optional fan ports make it easy to install filters on the intake. I live in Arizona and dust is a problem anyways, so I put some nice air filters in, and haven't had to dust the inside of the machine yet.
