Hi eric4179,

"ATREND ATC 6240:
Supports one Intel® Celeron™ Processor (SEPP) up to 533MHz*, Pentium® II Processor (SECC or SECC-2) up to 450MHz or Pentium® III Processor (SECC-2) up to 800MHz in Slot 1 CPU ratio selection from 3.5x to 8.0x CPU frequency selection from 66MHz to 150MHz Auto-detection of CPU core voltage from 1.65V to 3.5V
* PPGA versions require our FC370 CPU adapter for Slot 1 compatibility"

Your motherboard supports up to the PIII 800 Slot 1 (SECC-2). They aren't being produced anymore but are still available from some vendors. There are 2 variants of the PIII 800...the 800 and the 800EB. I'm not sure if you can use the 800EB on your motherboard.

The EB variant is the 133Mhz FSB version, you would need the 800E which is a 100Mhz FSB.

The Intel 440bx will support upto 800mhz 100mhz Bus. Pricewatch.com has some of these listed for $129.00 OEM.

Hi again,

If your motherboard doesn't auto-detect the new CPU as a 800MHz, you'll have to make the adjustments yourself. I'm not familiar with that particular motherboard and don't know if you have to set jumpers, DIP switches or go into the BIOS to make the changes. That board will auto-detect the CPU core voltage.

You'll want to set the multiplier or ratio to 8.0 and the FSB to 100MHz (8.0 X 100 = 800MHz). Newer Intel CPU's are multiplier locked so you may only have to make sure your FSB is set to 100MHz.

If you still have the motherboard manual, take a look at it to see how you go about making the changes to those settings.

BOY ARE YOU LUCKY TODAY. The board you have is jumperless, so you set-up everything from the BIOS setup screen

All you should have to do is make sure that the CPU Clock has set itself to 8.0 for 800 MHZ. If it does not Auto Detect then set it manually.

Very easily. If you click on this attachment and look at the picture, your processor will be automatically upgraded for free. I know I know this is not funny.
