Power to Motherboard
OK here is my story. I was installing a new processor fan so I had to remove my motherboard. I hooked "everything" back and the computer now doesn't turn on. I noticed some wires were unhooked. I guess I unhooked them and forgot where to put them. They are two very thin wires interlaced. One is red and white that says "Power SW" and the other is "Power LED" Both are 2 holed connections. I'm assuming these are the wires that connect to my power button to turn on my computer.
Here is my Motherboard model. HT 2000 MCP61PM-AM REV: 1.0A My power supply model is... Antec TP3-430 Please help. Thanks |

Take a look along the edges of your board for a group of pins that can handle those connections. They should be labeled so you know what goes where. If you plug it in and it doesn't turn on, flip the plug around, you can't damage anything.

Here's a link to your mobo. Looks like #9 points to the Front Panel connector.

Did you remember to plug in the 4 pin power connector near the cpu? It's #25 in your picture.

The only thing that must be connected is the power switch - the LED's won't keep it from turning on. You HAVE to find the 2 posts for the power switch. You can find them by trial and error.

Yes the pins to the center of the motherboard are connected (#25). So the little Power SW wire ONLY goes to one specific set of pins? So I have to find out EXACTLY where it was? Hmm, wish the Mobo maker labeled such an important connection.

Yes, but polarity doesn't matter with a switch, just a LED. The power switch pair must be on 2 specific posts, it doesn't matter which lead is on which post.

The power swich pins connect to pins 1 & 2 on the JF1 connector (panel connector). If you don't have a manual, you really need to download one. I found it easily with google - "HT 2000 motherboard manual" took me directly to the download.

hope this helps
idk if you still have the problem but panel 1 is the header you need and on your mobo behind the pci connector or the long white one and there will be a guide there that gives you the position you need to plug it all in
