Missing data?
I cloned my C drive the other day. After the cloning was finished, one of the first things I did was to see if the amount of data on the cloned drive was the same as the C drive...and it was, down to the gigabyte.
Unfortunately, my C drive became corrupt from something having to do with a RAM error. So I am now using my cloned drive as my C drive. Today, when I go to make a new clone of my cloned drive, I notice there is less data on my clone drive than my original C drive. How can this be? Its not like it is a small difference either. My cloned drive now has 401.9 gigabytes on it and my original (corrupt) C drive has the original 539 gigabytes on it that was originally on it. I did not send 138 gigabytes of data to the trash and then empty it either. So now I am left wondering, what is missing? Is it something I need to back up? Is there a way to compare the differences between what is on one drive compared to what is on another drive? I found this neat bit of software but it will not work with Vista 64. http://www.whoismadhur.com/2009/02/2...th-windirstat/ Is there something similar that might work or a better way of determining differences between what is on two different hard drives? Thanks
