Dvd drive

I am one step away from being a computer idiot, at least i can find the start button so please bear with me. Read sig for caps

for some reason my computer's dvd player won't work.
(it did a few days ago)

I checked device manager and it sez :
1. "device is disabled"...
2. "drivers are correct and up to date".
3. "a driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (code 32)"

i did the check for solutions ... It cant find one.

I dont have any other dvd software loaded or installed.

Ive been readins some posts and it asked for computer info. Not sure what you need to know.

Acer 5920 laptop
vista home premiun
intel core2 cpu t5450 @ 1.66 ghz
3062 mb ram
32 bit op sys
1 hd w/2 partitions ( hitachi hts542516k9sa00 )

dvd from device manager
tsst corp cd/dvdw ts-l632d ata device

OK, I WENT TO THE LINK AND LOOKED AT REG VIA REGEDIT.
I THINK I FOUND THE RIGHT SPOT,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

BUT CANT FIND UPPER OR LOWER FILTERS.

FOLDERS 0000, 0001, 0002. PROPERTIES SHOW UP. PROPERTIES WONT LET ME IN THE FOLDER
THE OTHER 3 HAVE THIS… ALL THE SAME INFO

Do a system restore back to a date and time when it still worked.
