Epson scanner 1650 photo, part 2

I wrote to this forum before searching for answers as to why the smart
panel program of this scanner wouldn't work.
When I called Epson Tech/Supp. they implied that it could be some type of ME conflict.They suggested I get in contact with the NewSoft Software Tech/Supp. and see what they could do.
Well, we called them, and after downloading drivers, uninstalling, and installing, doing, and redoing, nothing has work.
The scanner works great with any other of my programs from Newsoft, but
not at full capacity without the smart panel.
After sending plenty of emails, and faxes to Epson, they have not attempt
to contact me at all, so is going back!

Great scanner, lousy company!
