problem with new build

I recently made an own built, problem is the computer beeps like several times after I switch it on and then it goes off, I switch it on again it beeps again and switches off, and on the third trial it picks up and works normally...although I have tolerated this for months now, I would appreciate an answer for the cause of this;
it's an intel classic board, I installed core II duo on it and 4 DDR II memory chips of 500mb each.

any help will be highly appreciated,

thanks,

Go to the web site of the BIOS maker..The Beeps are there to tell you EXACTLY what is wrong.

Please provide the rest of the system specs, including the brand and model of the power supply.

Thanks, I went to the website and the beeps are explained there, namely;- repeated beeps in my case meant there was something wrong with the memory dimms, apparently one was not seated properly...I firmly placed it and now it works like a charm...
