Maximum memory on al old machiine
So I have this old old Compaq SR1429NX with 256mb of ram and I'd like to max it out to give it to my little sister. According to the HPs website the maximum memory is 1gb, the machine has two slots. So my question is can it recognize more memory since 1gb sticks of the same ram are available and it has two memory slots? or is it true that 1gb is the maximum?
thanks in advance |

You can't use 1 gb sticks on that model. To max it out you need two 512 MB sticks.

Go to Crucial.com and enter in your computers model number. It can tell you all you need to know about your computers RAM. You will not be obligated to buy from them.
I just did it for you.. http://www.crucial.com/search/search...paq%20SR1429NX
