I just installed a zoom pci fax modem in my new build, when I log onto the ISP and click on outlook express icon on the desktop to check my mail it disconnects me from the ISP....if I use the icon down at the right hand side of the task bar it stays connected....is it a software problem or a hardware problem??? this is the machine in my signature Gary D.

Hello Rodent-1,
First off, your post is in the incorrect forum. This post "should" be in the peripheral section. Replies to this post would be more concise there and folks who deal with problems like yours abound. As to your problem, thats out of my field but I'm sure you'll get hits. Otherwise, willthe modem dial out if you simply click on outlook instead of first connectiong to your ISP? 'Maybe a dialog box will pop up at that time and ask to connect saving you steps.

At top of browser you'll see Tools. Click it, select internet options, then connections tab. Select "never dial a connection".
