HDD replacement problems
I am trying to replace the HDD in my wifes computer because of slowing down and the disk cleanup and defragment was doing little to help. The computer was "rebuilt" a couple of years back and is a P4, with a ASRock P4VM800 mobo, which has 2 SATA ports. It was operating with a PATA drive, but I could only find SATA drives to replace the HDD. My problem is that I cannot get the computer to recognize the SATA drive after removing the old PATA drive. I have tried making changes in the BIOS, but the SATA drive is not detected. Am I overlooking something?

Send it back and get a PATA drive. There are still plenty of those around.
