RAM Upgrade
I have a stupid question. I have been out of the loop on computer hardware for a while and need some help.
I have a GA-7DX AMD 761 AGPset motherboard. It currently has two PC 2100 256mb Ram memory chips. I would like to replace these two chips with more memory. Reading online it looks like the PC 2100 can be replaced with PC 2700. If this is true, what woudl be the max size chips I could add? Two 512's or maybe 2 1 Gig's? Wich RAM manufacturer should I look at? Thanks for the help? |

Maximum 1gb per slot, you may use DDR-333 or DDR-400.

Thanks glc
IS it worth putting in 2 1 gig chips for a total of 2 gigs? Will my computer even use benefit from it? Also I see that Kingston still makes PC 2100. Is it better to put the PC 2100 in or just go with the PC 3200 you suggested? |

Go with the 400, and 2 gigs is well worth it these days if you are using XP. Crucial doesn't even list 266 speed for your motherboard.
