MemOk Error (Asus M5A97 EVO MB)

Recently, I've been getting a MemOK light blinking on my MB (Asus M5A97 EVO MB) . It happens every once in a while. My system may boot fine, then I restart and I get the error, or I may not. It's very sporadic. I have 2 sticks of 4gb. I've switched them around to see if the memory is bad but the symptoms are the same. I'm using crucial ram. Any suggestions? Like I said it just started happening and it's very sporadic.

Download Memtest86+ and test your ram.

I tested the ram and it's coming back fine. I also unplugged the system and cleared the board, pulled the ram and put it back in, then plugged the system back in and on comes the CPU light again (I had this problem in the beginning with the cpu light). Once the cpu light stopped giving me a problem, the VGA light came on once and I had to reboot.

I have tried both sticks of ram separately and I cannot find anything that helps me repeat the issue, everything is really sporadic. The system just feels like acting up whenever it wants. Any other suggestions? I'm almost at the point that I think I got a faulty MOBO.

Also, is this board supposed to beep when it's booting up or if something goes wrong? Because it doesn't.

What RAM are you using?
What BIOS Version?
What Power Supply are you using?

Newegg.com - Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT51264BA1339

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

The BIOS Version is 0402

Also, Reading over my manual, I looked at CLRTC RAM and there is no jumper in place. Should this have been installed a the factory and if it's missing, will it cause problems?

Yes, there should be a jumper on pins 1 and 2. That is the current BIOS, as no updates have been released yet. If you do not have a jumper, contact Asus and they will send you one. This is more than likely the reason for the MEM OK error.
