Which for Better Gaming?

Hi all, i am thinking about getting an xps 17 and i have a question regarding gaming. With this computer, i can either get a i7 processor and a Nvidia 550 graphics card, or a i5 processor and a Nvidia 555 graphics card. Unfortunetly, it isnt in the budget to get both an i7 and a 555. Which combonation will give me better gaming performance? Any help is appreciated

I'm not a big fan of Dell computers, I've had to deal with various problems with them ( a lot to do with overheating). I've had problems with Dell laptops from el cheapo walmart laptops all the way to gaming dell laptops with sli'd videocards. If you are looking for a good affordable gaming laptop, look at laptops made by Asus, most likely they will be faster than what you can get from dell while being less expensive and more reliable.

Just wondering if you have looked at the alternatives to buying a Dell. Custom computers are much more likely to be upgradeable if and when that time comes.

What is your budget? I bet the people here can design you a better computer for the same price than what you can get through Dell.
