smokin X7DVL-E SATA ports not reporting in the Bios.

I am re-purposing a Supermicro 1U server and am having an issue with the SATA ports. The board is an X7DVL-E with Dual Xeon E5410 2.33Ghz processors, 20Gb DDR2-PC2 5300 FB RAM, Thermaltake 850W PS. I have 2 400G drives and 2 500G drives that I would like to mirror in pairs. The problem is not all of the SATA ports show up in the Bios. Ports 0-3 are in the Bios but ports 4-5 do not show up at all. The port shortage makes it hard to connect the Super drive (CD-DVD etc.) and the external SSHD dock along with the 4 drives. The Bios is version R2.1a, which is the latest version on the Supermicro site, and was installed because the previous version was not reporting the SATA ports correctly. The site said not to update the Bios unless there were problems...I consider the SATA ports a problem. Unfortunately the Bios update did not resolve the missing port issue.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Ric
