cdr help!!!

hi. i'm using nero 4.o to burn cd-rs. the last time i opened up nero it couldnt detect my cd-r drive. any ideas on fixing this? its a dell pc 500 mhz, 320 mb ram 2 20gb hard drives, creative 4/4/24 cd-rw.

Hi tumbleweedstudios,

Have you changed anything on your system recently? Does the CD-RW work okay otherwise? You can try to uninstall Nero and then reinstall it after a reboot.

Also, visit the Ahead/Nero website and download an update...Nero is up to 5.5.6.4.

yeah. i installed audio grabber. would that have anything to do with it not working? the cd-r works fine in windows. i tryed putting another cd-rw into the pc and had the same problem. i tryed the cd-r in another computer in another computer and it worked fine. tryed uninstalling and reinstalling nero, tryed different software. nothing seemd to work.

Nero needs ASPI drivers, if Audio Grabber installed its own for whatever reason, that could be the problem.

Search the Win2000 forum here for "ASPI", you'll find a post from me with some links to them.
