RME HDSP9632 sound card outputting very low pitched audio.

My audio card is a RME HDSP9632 PCI.

Until very recently, I had no issues with this soundcard. Today I tried to playback an .mov file and the audio was a much lower pitch than it should be. The file has a rate of 48khz. Attempts to play other files, both audio and video of all types of format, in multiple resolutions including 96khz, and in multiple media players, resulted in the same phenomenon: a sometimes choppy, very low pitched output.
I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Windows XP (both 64 bit). This issue persists in both OS. Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver has no effect. Card already flashed to latest version but a reflash did no good.
I want to stress that this has never been a problem before. I have used the card with both of these OS without issue until today.

Anyone had an issue like this before, or heard of an issue like this?

Turns out it is a hardware issue. Needs a repair or replacement.
