Need help with DVD Drive

I have a ASUS P8Z68-v Pro Motherboard and I have 2 LG GH22NS70 DVD Drives installed in my PC and the problem that I'm having is that whenever I try to burn a DVD at 4x speed it will not let me it will olny burn them at 8x speed or higher.

I tried contacting LG and they were no help at all and they said it was the burning program I was using but I was using Nero 10 and ConvertXtoDVD on this MotherBoard and my old one and they worked just fine,I also know the DVD's can be burned at 4x speed,if you download the PDF file from the LG site that has the specs on this DVD Drive it also say's it can burn at 4x anyone got any idea's as to what's going on.

I do not care for LG drives. Their firmware leaves a lot to be desired. You have a firmware issue in my opinion and that is why I no longer recomend them.

Are the disks burned at the higher speed good? If so, why wouldn't you burn at the highest speed possible?

I'm burning them at a lower speed because some are video's that are off of youtube and I have found that burning at higher speeds sometimes cause's the video's to pause for no reason what so ever and they will keep pausing more often and pause longer each time.

You may have to look into a different buring program unfortunatley. ImgBurn or CDBurnerXP are the ones I install on builds. Usually ImgBurn.
