Eyefinity 6 with Samsung MD230X6

Hey guys - I just purchased a Samsung MD230X6 for, what I think is a very good price, $1700 (hopefully it is?) and I know very little about Eyefinity and AMD cards. I've always used Nvidia and I was always using dual screens.

I see that MD230's have dvi, display port inputs...What card do I need to get to support 6 screens? I see that some cards have 6 display ports, which obviously would support 6 screens...but they seem to run more expense than other 6870's or 6850's...I read that a single display port can actually output to 3 screens at the same time...how do I do this!? What do I need to purchase to be able to get a card like

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-R687OC-1GD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

and use it on the Samsung set up?

PS. I am not looking to spend a lot of money on a video card, as I'll mostly be using the screens for business purposes...so gaming isn't a big deal to me. What card do you all recommend?

PPS. Is $1,700 good for the above mentioned setup? It is brand new, etc. The screens aren't LED...which was a bummer when I realized

THANKS!

This is the card you need, it's the only Eyefinity 6 card at Newegg:

Newegg.com - VisionTek 900373 Radeon HD 6870 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

The other Eyefinity cards you are looking at top out at 3 displays.

You got a heck of a deal - the going price for that rig is $3000+.

Guys - thank you for the help. I've decided to go with the 5870, they go for less than $300 on eBay.

I could get a few more of these setups, in either 3 or 6 screens for great prices. If anyone is interested, PM me or write here.

3 screen would be about $1400-1500
and 6 would run about $2500.

I got mine for $1700 because I am picking it up and paying cash and I know the person selling them

You found a 5870 with Eyefinity 6? How are the ports set up - 6 MDP?

Yep, it has 6 mini display ports. It is much more powerful than the newer 6870, for whatever reason? Glad I went with 5870 and saved $ and got a lot more bang for the buck!
