Possible Inverter Out on HP dv9000
HP dv9000.
When I first got it and turned it on the screen is really fuzzy/blurry and really unusable which made me think inverter problem. (the screen was blurry during the post and not just after windows loaded) I plugged it into a external monitor and the display was fine but at the same time the display on the laptop screen also straightens itself out when I plug in the external. I unplug the external monitor and reboot the laptop and the display is still fine. I turn it off and back on, display looks good. I turn it off and let it set for about an hour, display looks good. (an hour is about how long it took the client to bring it to me after calling with the problem) I leave it on for hours on end and the display is looking good. Now what? I am sure if I tell them I can't get it to go all fuzzy again and give it back, it will before long do it again.

That's not an inverter issue - that would kill the backlight and you wouldn't see anything on the display unless you shine a light directly on it. Fuzzy and blurry is a video adapter issue.

I did have one of my once every few years slight hangovers yesterday. No joke. I went out with my half my age son and tried to keep up the night before. Even bigger mistake than getting my video display issues mixed up...again. FYI, the laptop display is still fine when I fired it up this morning and I'm fine today. |
