HP a1410y no video on start up

Customer called me up saying her Pavilion froze while playing a game on Facebook. Computer never responded, so she did a hard shut down. Now, no video on start up. Had her bring me the computer and a new video card (Galaxy GT 520), since I thought it might be the video card. Still can't get any video. All the lights and fan turn on on power up, lights on mouse and keyboard work as well. No hard beeps from the computer or anything. I've reset the bios by taking out the battery back up for half an hour. I've also unplugged everything besides the new video card, to see if it was some other faulty hardware, still a no go. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Having problems with a new build? Try this.

Try a spare power supply if it won't POST using that procedure. Use the onboard video.

Well, I tried a known working PSU after going through the procedure in your post, still no video on start up.

Probably a bad motherboard. Inspect it for bulging or leaky capacitors.

That's what I thought. Customer is just going to buy a new tower vs spending money in fixing this one. Thanks for the link to that thread by the way.
