HIGH core temps with zero load??
So i have a i5 3750k with a cool master 212 heatsink, a corsair HX750 psu, EVGA GTX 670 gpu and i feel like my core temps are realitivly high at zero percent load. I am stock clock. Just put the build together today.

Those temps are fine, that chips can run from 30c-40c at idle, even lower/higher depending on the ambient air temps.

Correct numbers. They do tend to run hotter than previous technology but those numbers are normal. You will benefit from that cooler under load and it is pretty significant over the stock cooler.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was just worried because its my first build and i didn't want to ruin my cpu. The ambient temperature in my house is around 25C. So i guess these numbers seem ok. Is there anyway to get them lower than the 34C they seem to be sitting at?

I just installed one of these on my i5. Now I can watch MLB.TV (streaming flash video) in fullscreen without problems.

I don't use prime95, I run Linux. these temps are reported using a program named psensor. With it you can leave a small icon in your notification area in Ubuntu that shows all the sensor information with a click of the mouse at anytime. This is at an idle, note cpu usage was only 4%. When viewing MLB.TV in full screen cpu usage jumps to 40% and cpu temp jumps to the mid 40's. Before installing the cooler it would jump to the mid 50's and go even higher if I left it in full screen, I would have to minimize the program during commercial breaks to control the temps.
