Rules for Thermal Grease
How much thermal grease is too much?
Are there any rules to Thermal Grease or do most people just play it loose and fast. Thanks, Seth |

Hi Seth,
I think the instructions here are pretty good. I always just put a small pea size drop on the center of the CPU core and let the pressure from the heatsink spread it around.

Hi sdkramer,
Here's a link to an earlier thread where one of the forum members experiemented with the amount of thermal compound used and what he found out: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=15900 Basically, you don't need much for it to work properly. Too much has the opposite effect as it reduces the thermal transfer between CPU core and heatsink. Cricket
