I recently put a new graphics card into my computer and realized my computer couldn't power it after turning it on so i turned it off and put my old graphics card back in. now my computer will not recognize that there is a graphics card present. it will get no single what so ever. i have to use the vga on my motherboard to see anything. i have a zotac gtx 550 ti. Im pretty new to computer gaming and computer building so any help would be great. here is link to my exact set up except i swapped out the ram.

Go back and use the onboard video. Boot into BIOS and look for the option to change the primary video to PCI-E. Shut down, then add your video card. On boot up the new setting should take effecct.

Or have you already done this?

Do you have a spare power supply you can throw in there to check with the old known working card? That brand is not known for quality components. Hopefully, all you damaged was the power supply and did not take the PCIe slot with it.

Asrock H61 motherboard and a PSU with only 18 amps on the +12v rail, from what I can find on that specific computer.

when you booted the rig with the new card did you plug the power plugs into the card?

Got a link to the actual new card you tried?

Yes the fan even started to spin for a bit then nothing showed up on the screen. turned it off tried again then realized my amps on the 12th rail weren't good enough to power it.
