Question i am looking for a good reliable Gaming Head set..

i have a Corsair 1500 headset, the Corsair is wonderful if your head was the size a 12 year old girls. but it is so tight and ill fitting I'd rather be waterboarded than wear it 10 minutes. it is the finest headset i have.. built like a tank, heavy duty aluminum, superb sound. i guess they'd work great if your hat size is under a size 7, they feel OK for a while if you wear them backward. not useable fo me, ihey are extremely painful to wear.

got a couple $60+ Plantronics that are trash, well actually they are just pieces, each piece has an ear muff hanging on it.. . I'm thinking of mounting them on a head band or something and taping my desk top mike on the set's dead mic. the audio works great, 3 sets with no mic working.

my hat size is a 7 1/2, I'm 6'6". my ears aren't real big, but bigger than most. what do i have to do just break down and get a $200-300 professional set.? if so, can anyone point me to a good brand/model.

i have one of the little white Logitech $20 sets that rests on the outside of your ear... it works OK, i haven't used the mic, but it doesn't register very high on the set up programs.

This place secializes in headphones. Dont join the forum though, youll end up spending way too much money. Since joining it ive spent around $1400. They will all agree that basically gaming headsets suck compared to music designed/inspired sets.

Do you need a mike?

i have the mic that was on my Plantronics Gamecom, the plastic was very thin and brittle, i was able to just break off the mic and tape it on another headset's dead mic. plug'd it in the Audio card, works great.

I'll look around, thanks for the link, lots of info.

Are you looking for open or closed? Id love to reccomend for the 300$ price range the Denon AH-D2000s. They have good soundstage, great bass, and a fun sound signature. Closed so they block out some noise, but not much because they are extremely comfortable. I have their bigger brother, the AH-D5000. They are a pretty penny more though.
