splat my heat sink fan covers the #1 Ram slot on my new build

so can i just put #1 & #2 RAM cards in the #2 & #4 slots instead of the #1 & #3 slots.. does it make a difference?

i have two 4Gb cards, i set it up to check the clearance before putting on the thermal paste and it was clear of the slot, but apparently i had it set up wrong the first time, i checked the base and it is on the CPU. i used up the last of my nano diamond thermal paste.

this cooler needs 2 fans, they are matched high volume fans. i set them up so one runs and a thermo regulator sensor i put in the heat sink vanes automatically kicks in the second fan when the temp in the Heat sink reaches a set temp, like 48*. it is pretty nice, i put a lot of work in this set up, and it was hard to do with one hand.. now the #1 RAM slot is covered

Using either dual channel pair should be fine.

I've had that too I just put the ram in first with a stock heatsink and test it to make sure its good then swap out the better heatsink... or use the other slots unless the board instructions say otherwise.

Sometimes thats the price you pay for performance
