microsoft life cam VX-3000

my sister in Mich and I both have the same web-cam.

she developed a problem with hers when we started to use skipe, she had poor audio with a interment hum, it worked great on her laptop with instant messenger,
but the problen still was on her new dell using skipe.

I having the same cam and the new dell desktop, and skipe worked fine. I did some testing on hers while on live video with skype and determend that there was a interment ground connection on her cam, she went out and bought a new cam and it worked fine so she mailed me the problem cam, placed it on my laptop, and it worked fine with instant messenger with my other sister in Missouri, so I then pluged it into my dell desktop and did a live video with my sister in Mich, and the interment hum was there.

this is the fun part, with nothing to loose, I dismantled the cam looking for a loose connection anywhere, finding none I did the next best thing, I replaced the mic and then tried the live video again, it worked fine, no more interment hum. put the cam all back together and am now using it all the time on my new dell and the other cam is now on my laptop.
