laptop keyboard hell
Dell Inspiron 1501. I've replaced a lot of keyboards.
The one that came in the mail has NO adapter type of thing at the end of the ribbon When I took the original keyboard out, I noticed after I took it out that it also had just the flat ribbon and nothing attached. I thought, that's strange. Found a very thin small black piece stuck to the inside of the laptop - took that out. but even that doesn't make sense as far as how it would hook to the ribbon on the new keyboard. Am I missing something? Did I brake something? These darn old laptops. Update: I think I managed to fanagle it in there. I slipped it in, but have nothing to hold it due to taking out that black piece I guess. I carefully put the keyboard back and I think it might of stayed so hopefully with the screws and everything - it will be fine. Last edited by legend_018; 11-15-2012 at 09:53 AM. Reason: change |

A dab of RTV should hold the ribbon in place.
