New to me
Would this be worth the money, or not? $200, shipping included. A used HP nx9600 laptop with 17" screen @1680/1050 res. Intel pentium 4 - 650 with HT tech. 3.4 Ghz. 80GB ATA IDE 5400rpm hard drive. ATI Mobility Radeon x600 with 128 MB dedicated vid mem. Intel 915p express chipset. 400 Mhz DDR2 sdram with 2 SODIMM slots upgradeable to 2048 M. Soundmax audio with pure audio n/r. Has XP Pro SP3, 2012 Kaspersky antivirus, cdrw/dvd and wireless.

That laptop was manufactured in 2005. I wouldn't pay more than $25-$50 for a laptop that old.
If it still has the original hard drive, plan on about $100 to replace it when it goes. Hard drives that start getting more than 5 years old tend to have a higher chance of failing just due to age and the components wearing out. The antivirus solution isn't really a selling point--there are plenty of free solutions available.

The only used laptops I'd pay $200 for would be business-grade machines built to be road warriors - such as Lenovo Thinkpads. Even then, one that old is not worth it.
That HP is an old, heavy, clunky desktop replacement that runs hot and battery life is terrible. Wait for Black Friday - I'd bet that you can get something current for $200. EDIT: That laptop would not be suitable for doing what you say you want to do in your other thread, and neither would a current cheap laptop. The NX9xxx series are notorious for LCD problems, not recommended.
