Stock Problems
I am using a stock dell PC, and have replaced the HDD 2 or 3 times in the past 6 months.
Now, with a new 1TB HDD WD Faex, I am getting problems again... Is it possible that my mobo or something else in my case is effecting the HDD. If the HDD fries again, the owners will blame it on me and I want to protect the HDD more than anything at this point. It's about 3 years old, and it's the crappiest pile ever...... |

Seems like a chance that it is my SATA cables, MOBO, or power supply...
I guess I'll see if I can someone to replace it with a basic build. Temperature is 98F of the HDD, and the voltage adds up to like 33v and my PSU is 120watts..so think all is well there.. Guessing its my mobo, it doesn't look so good in 2 copper plates, looks burnt out, not literally burnt just worn out. Last edited by Nucious; 01-29-2013 at 11:40 PM. |

Check the voltage's on the power supply.
If the drive is WD Cavair Blue 1TB. They were having issues with those. Have you run WD diagnostics on the drive? |

120 watts - you sure about that? That's awful small.
What is the exact model of this Dell? Post the service tag number too. |
