I found this super cheap b75 standard ATX mobo and its nearly if not exactly the same specs as the one that's 95. this one is 65. now idk what open box means but it sounds like a good deal. ?

Open box means just that, the box has been opened and it may no longer listed as a new item. Probably a return item.

It is a gamble and not worth it. I ordered a new 1155 motherboard from Newegg and they sent me an open box. How do I know? The CPU socket was wrecked. They claimed I wrecked it when I filed for RMA and returned it.
They gave me so much runaround that I filed a bad review on ResellersRating. I guess that got the boss's attention because they straightened it out for me. I got my new motherboard and everything's working. I even bought more stuff without any problem. |

Your taking a risk. I have done it before but only when I was desperate. I recently was with an industrial customer and was looking for a socket 1156 with IGP/i3 CPU. I found one at a reputable eBayer whom I had done business with before. The tech guy smashed the original boards pins due while trying to address an overheat situation. He reapplied the thermal but it was a different issue all together. Anyway, I bought a Adventech motherboard and gained a new customer who has been keeping me real busy as of late. The motherboard was listed as new other, open box. It was as described, a new pull from a lot of unsold, new servers. They put it in a nice box with backplate, cd's, cables, etc. It was a score but not typical of open box items. I was also able to contact the seller and discuss prior to purchase which is not typical either with companies like newegg, etc.

The risk is not worth the reward. Oh wait...they saved you the big hassle of unpacking it!

Well, I am just going to get a new Mobo, less problems in the long run... I am not sure when I will purchase my build, all prices are stable so far, so pretty good there. Can't wait til I am able to purchase my build. Anyways, thanks for the info.
