Using a lot of Liquid Electrical Tape lately

Man, I have had a run on broken jacks on laptops the last 2 weeks. Most have been Sony. Weird.

Tell them the jacks are not for changing tires.

I don't understand why all jacks on laptops are not magnetic these days.

I have never used the liquid tape, how well does it actually work?

It works perfect on soldered joints where tape or shrink can be a pain. Any soldered joint for that matter. It's like 6 bucks a jar, shake it good, dab it on with the brush cap, dries fast, and remains pliable. On one of the Sony's (VIO), it was the second time I had replaced it (poor design) and I slit the liquid tape with an exacto and it peeled off clean. The only thing is the can can dry up if not sealed real good, so take care in that area.

I use it around the boat over small ferrous metal parts that would corrode otherwise or as electrical insulation for certain applications where an electrical circuit has to go in the water. Great stuff. It comes in red, white and black.

I used it once to mark my dock line because someone stole a few lengths. I drew dah dah dit dah on the line...Morse code for the first letter of my boats name. Nobody has stolen any line since then.

Never heard of the stuff untill I read your post. Had an opportunity to try it on some some electrical connections that using tape was hard to get at. Worked very well, great tip jdep.
