Asus z77-lk not finding GPU

Ok so I got everything installed and up and running with my upgrade, I am using a z77-lk board with a 3570k. The only issue and its a big one is that my gtx 660 is not recognized anywhere, I switch the primary graphics to pci-e and it just switches back. I have re installing the most up to date bios, I am about to check on the chipset version, anyone have any tips?

Have you tried both the blue and white slots? Do you have the 6 pin PCI-E power connected to the card?

I haven't tried the white slot yet, I do have the power connected. The only reason I haven't tried a new slot is my case's pci covers are non replaceable. I will just bite the bullet and find some that I can cover the holes up with.

Going to bring this up and ask if anyone knows why this is? Is it because I am using the IGPU also so the board thinks I have two cards installed or what? The reason I ask is the second slot is limited to 8x speeds no matter what and I would really like to try the gpu in the top slot at 16x just to see if there is any difference.

That's a good question, and I am looking forward to some of the answers that may appear on this topic. I would assume that since the motherboard has IGPU enabled, it will only allow the use of an x8 lane (virtually two gpus).

Is there an option in your bios to where you can disable IGPU? If so, I'd try disabling it, then try plugging the card into the x16 slot to see if it worked.
