Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2048MB (?)

Hi!

Now it was about 2-3 years I got my grapich card...
And when I started that topic here ^^ ...

(Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5)

To play some newer games like Gta IV...

But it seems like it's abit to weak for IV
feels a bit laggy etc (running on lowest grapichs xD)... And I also planning on some more newer
games..

But not full sure if I will get any new, just maybe..

so I'm maybe planning on this:

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2048MB

So is that a good card?

Btw: I can clearly

See that GeForce GTX 660 is (much?) better then my old (Radeon HD 6670)
I have seen some on the spec and it looks much better..

So I ask here so I'm full sure.

Right?.

And is that a card to recommand?..

It seems to fit my needs very good!, if it can run IV well...

About in full grapic? Or half? Half is enough but I would surely
run it in full if it can but I believe that..

But it seems like that with these good spec ^^..
Good price class also, I don't want any more expensive..

And one more question:

Are there some idea to buy 2 pretty cheap grapic cards??
That I can use for Crossfire or AMD SLI, or what
it's named in this case...

Or one for my old grapic card
that I alredy have now?..

But then I can't run Gta San Andreas, I think older games
don't support that... But there are maybe some mod..

Well I don't think you recommand the last altenative I think that above ^^..

Thanks alot..

Edit: And also I don't have that pc that I had that time..

What EXACT BRAND and MODEL power supply?

What EXACT BRAND and MODEL motherboard and CPU?

400 watts is NOT ENOUGH for a GTX660.

GTA IV is very very cpu heavy, what cpu do you have and is it overclocked? I love my gtx 660 and I can play GTA IV just fine but I have a 3570k overclocked a lot.

What brand and model is the power supply, if its a great unit then it would run the 660 depending on the rest of the pc but will be cutting it close.

Glc sorry I didn't notice all in your post!...

Anyway I have:

Cpu: Intel core i3 2100 3.10GHZ (I think IV will run good with that)
Because some one told me that my old CPU would run it..
And it's even bader...

Power supply: Plexgear PS-400 (400w) (Some cheap) I even think it's
the stores own brand there I bought it lol.. Did it to save some money...

Ram memory: Corsair ddr3 4gb 1333mHZ XMS3.

Your system meets requirements for those games. However, if you want a stronger video card, you *WILL* have to upgrade the power supply. You can upgrade the CPU with no issues.

I just reviewed some old threads -

Will it be enought with power?

GTA IV lagging vs CPU update

You didn't listen to us before, are you going to listen this time? If you can't afford to buy good parts, don't buy ANY parts.

Sarge, I used Google Translate to translate my question into Swedish because he ignored it several times.

Grandma on moms side taught me a lot of swedish words but I can not translate most of them with software. I asked my mom to confirm them and she hit me.

Swedish ftw!.

Feel a bit stupid on this forum...

Ontopic: Yeah, but it doesn't feel laggy
like said in first post, it feels like it's not running smooth/well enough... Or what I should call it...

CPU I knew I could update.

What didn't I listen to in the old threads?
Was it about PSU?, I thought it didn't doesn't matter... Just the right woltage so I bought a cheaper one.

Yeah of course I will listen this time!...
I will see if I will just get it..

Some other parts may come before
more needing things.

I maybe planning on a new HDD I've had my C HDD for many years now like about from 2008 until now! ^^, and I think I need some better and bigger & faster... How are HDD's in that age?..
Is it safe??. I had that in my second computer,
and part by part got broken...

Well I will read better... I don't know why I did a stupid mistake like that... Well could be many reasons... We all make some xD...

You did not follow advice for the power supply. A power supply is a very important component and you should never use a cheap one. There is a lot more to a power supply than just advertised wattage.

Amen to that. To me it's the most important, it all starts there when you push the button to turn on the PC. Kinda like a car - you may have all the cool stuff but if your engine is shot, you ain't going anywhere. Or like trying to pull a big trailer and boat behind a VW Bug.

Yeah sure I will answer them all.

I don't have much info about it,

are there any program that I can run to get
info about my harddrive? I tired with
SIW but it doesn't show well...

I can fix the info tomorrow if I get some program
that can show info.

Belarc Advisor will tell you most everything except what type of PSU that you have.

Device Manager will give you the model number, and you can use My Computer to get properties of the drive - size and free space.

Something does NOT look right in that screen shot. Please open Disk Management, expand the window so you can see everything with no scroll bars, and take a screen shot.

Also, please open My Computer, right click on each drive, go to Properties, and give us the data for used space, free space, and capacity.

Your C drive is full, and so is your Iomega drive.

Your C drive is a partition on your 500gb internal drive. It does not occupy the whole drive, you have about 150gb of unallocated space. You need to use partition management software to expand the C partition out to the end of the drive.

Easeus Partition Master Home Edition - CNET Download.com

Use this to do it, you don't need a new C drive. The reason it's slow is it's full and probably hasn't been defragmented in years.

You need to move some files from your F drive to your D drive.

So, do I have a 500gb hdd with my Windows on?.. (C)..

I'll try to fix it.

Thanks!.

Edit: If I will buy the grapich card some time, wich power supply then??..
Like Corsair?...

Corsair is pretty good, but does it have to be expensive even if it's a good brand?.

Good quality, reliable parts cost more money to manufacture.

The lower priced Corsair CX and GS power supplies aren't that good, but they are a heck of a lot better than that no-name one you have now.

I would change it immediately if you can afford too, if you can't then you have to take the risk and run it until you can afford to change it. However absolutely do not add anything to your system before you change the psu.
